I’m partnering with a leading international insurance business on the appointment of an Employee Relations Manager for a newly created 12-month FTC.

This role has been created as part of an ongoing organisational restructure and offers an excellent opportunity to lead the UK ER agenda during a significant period of change.

Managing a team of three HR Advisors, you’ll be the go-to ER specialist for the UK business, providing expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, organisational change, policy development and employment law.

A key focus of the role will be supporting restructuring activity, so candidates must have demonstrable experience managing both individual and collective redundancy consultations, alongside wider change programmes such as TUPE and operating model changes.

Key responsibilities

  • Leading on complex and high-risk ER cases.
  • Managing individual and collective consultation processes.
  • Acting as the UK ER subject matter expert.
  • Supporting organisational design and business transformation activity.
  • Reviewing and enhancing HR policies, contracts and employee documentation.
  • Partnering with senior leaders, HRBPs, Legal and employee representative groups.
  • Coaching and developing a team of three HR Advisors.
  • Providing commercially focused, legally compliant ER solutions.

Qualifications

  • Significant ER Manager or Senior ER Specialist experience.
  • Strong UK employment law knowledge.
  • Proven experience leading redundancy and consultation processes.
  • Experience managing complex ER casework.
  • Previous line management experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Ideally, experience within insurance, financial services or another regulated environment.
