They are looking for an experienced HR Manager to join this dynamic scale-up and lead the development of a people strategy that drives performance, inclusion, and growth.

This is a standalone role – a unique opportunity to build and embed HR practices from the ground up. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll have full responsibility for the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and development. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to managers, championing a positive, values-led culture and ensuring HR is a strategic enabler of success.

What you will be doing:

  • You’ll take the lead on shaping and delivering the HR strategy that aligns with their growth ambitions and reflects their values.
  • You will lead on shaping recruitment campaigns and building an employer brand that attracts top talent.
  • You’ll create structured onboarding experiences that set new hires up for success, ensuring every stage of the employee journey is engaging and consistent.
  • You’ll embed frameworks for performance management and career development, champion diversity and inclusion, and implement HR systems that support operational excellence.
  • Your role will be both strategic and hands-on, balancing big-picture thinking with practical delivery.
  • You’ll act as the go-to advisor for managers, coaching them through challenges and building their confidence in handling people matters.
  • You’ll manage employee relations with care and professionalism, ensuring compliance with UK employment law while maintaining a human-centric approach.

What we’re looking for:

  • To be successful in this role you must be an experienced HR generalist that has past or current experience in a standalone or small team HR role within a fast-paced and scale-up SME sized business (c 50-200 headcount).
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and experience handling employee relations.
  • A digital-first mindset and confidence in implementing HR systems.
  • Experience setting up policies and procedures and owning the employee lifecycle within an SME business.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to coach managers and drive cultural alignment.
  • CIPD Level 5+ qualification.
