Our client is a highly regarded, commercially driven organisation with a strong reputation for excellence and growth. As part of continued expansion and integration activity, they are now seeking an experienced Employee Relations Adviser to join their London-based HR function. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with a professional, forward-thinking HR team in a business where people strategy plays a critical role in commercial success.

The Role

Reporting into the senior HR leadership team, the Employee Relations Adviser will deliver high-quality, pragmatic ER support across the organisation. You will act as the primary ER point of contact for integrating businesses, providing expert guidance through periods of change, while also supporting the wider organisation when integration activity is quieter. The role requires strong judgement, commercial awareness, and the ability to confidently navigate complex, ambiguous, or sensitive situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing expert employee relations advice across a broad range of matters, including grievances, disciplinaries, investigations and appeals
  • Building strong, credible relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business
  • Identifying ER risks early and recommending practical, proportionate solutions
  • Advising on performance management, sickness absence, flexible working, family leave and changes to terms and conditions
  • Leading or contributing to projects such as policy and process reviews, SMCR, whistleblowing and Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs)
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of employment law and case law, proactively recommending improvements to policies and practices
  • Sharing integration and ER expertise with the wider HR Adviser team
  • Producing and analysing HR management information to support decision-making
  • Supporting the wider HR senior leadership and HR services teams where required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced ER professional who brings:

  • Strong, current knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Proven experience handling complex and sensitive ER cases
  • Confidence operating in a fast-paced, commercial setting with competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and sound professional judgement

Qualifications

CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent relevant professional qualification)
