The Director, Study Abroad Programs is responsible for all of Maximo Nivel’s international education programs, including: Volunteer Abroad, International Internships, TEFL Certification, Native Spanish Program, University Courses, and Adventure & Culture.
The Director leads the international programs business and ensures excellent client service and program management. The Director works closely with international clients providing in-country support, project organization, class scheduling, housing, travel, and responding to any other needs program participants have. The Director is also closely involved with partner management, including regular communication with both international and local partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide organization, leadership, and coaching for a team of 3-4 Field Managers and Client Service Manager.
- Work at improving and advancing Maximo Nivel’s International education programs business.
- Responsible for delivering great client service and for driving the philosophy of “great service” within the International Programs Team.
- Responsible for increasing sales and enrollment into study abroad programs.
- Lead the identification and development of new community-based project sites and internship placements.
- Lead the sourcing and development of host families and other accommodations for international students and faculty.
- Manage travel and transportation partner to deliver safe, high-quality tours, treks, and adventure and cultural programs.
The Director is in charge of client and program management and logistics, including:
- Airport pick-up
- Orientation and welcome
- Problem-solving and emergency management
- Scheduling: Volunteers, Spanish classes, family-stays
- Sending emails, answering phones, and updating the CRM system
- Travel details (Flights, hotel, arrival, departure, etc.)
- Database management, CRM system and other online platforms.
- Coordinating donations and aid
QUALIFICATIONS
- U.S., British, Canadian, European, or South African expat preferred; Work visa support provided
- Bachelors Degree; Masters Degree preferred
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish
- At least 5 years professional experience
- Experience leading, training, and motivating a busy team
- Must be very client service oriented
- Business minded and very strong at managing details
- Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, G-Suite, and CRM
- Passion for educational travel and working with students and faculty
