Clerk of Works job role with an established Quantity Surveying and Property consultancy. Clerk of Works to inspect and report on sites around the Evesham, Worcestershire area. A company car is provided, and business mileage is paid. Projects will largely be residential new build and refurbishment projects related to housing.

As Clerk of Works, you will need to demonstrate an ability to undertake instructions of building works in progress on newly built residential sites. A good knowledge of current Building Regulations and Warranty provider standards is required. Clerk of Works in this role should be comfortable with regular travel around Evesham, Worcestershire.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Act as the principal point of contact with the social housing client in respect of the construction quality on site.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure issues are resolved at an early stage and that all stakeholders are satisfied with the quality of the construction process and the social housing end product.
  • Manage multiple social housing projects simultaneously and deploy excellent time management strategies to ensure efficient working practices.
  • Visit multiple sites on a regular basis using the company car provided.
  • Provide the Administration team in head office with dictated reports and photographs following completion of each site inspection.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the building and housing industry, have a basic technical and construction awareness and competence.
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and colleagues alike.

  • Knowledgeable construction professional with experience in a similar role previously.
  • Good knowledge of building regulations and the ability to read construction drawings.
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office 360 e.g. Word, Outlook & Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Great attention to detail and good time management.
  • Strong client-facing skills are required to fulfil this role.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
  • Clerk of Works ICWIC accredited / accreditation is beneficial.
  • A formal qualification in construction, engineering or project management such as CIOB, CABE, RICS, IFE etc would be advantageous.
