A small but highly reputable claims and disputes consultancy in Sheffield are seeking to hire an experienced professional at Director level. The business is hoping that the successful candidate can add some valuable experience within their senior management team. With your primary duty to manage a variety of clients' assignments relating to dispute resolution, dispute avoidance, claims management, advisory services, expert appointments and more.
You will need to be dual qualified in both technical and construction law related subjects, and have gained significant exposure to claims, advisory and disputes related work as part of your previous role(s). Responsibilities and Duties- You will report directly into the Managing Director and become an integral member of a small senior management team within the business.
- Management of client assignments.
- Management of dispute proceedings on behalf of clients.
- Providing tailored, strategic advice to clients.
- Managing small teams of internal and external staff.
- Mentorship and development of junior staff within the business.
- Assisting with business development and contributing to growth plans.
- Involvement in the recruitment process.
- Must have strong technical skills and knowledge and combine this with a proven track record of operating in a specialist role focusing on claims and disputes related work.
- Proven, demonstrable experience of leading dispute processes such as adjudications.
- Excellent report writing skills and experience of writing expert reports.
- Strong managerial experience with a proven track record of mentoring and developing junior staff.
- Ability to take the lead on client assignments and delegate tasks within the team efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to provide effective solutions and strategic advice to a variety of clients' issues.
- Candidates from a commercial background are preferred by the hiring company.
- Dually qualified with a technical degree and a further qualification in construction law is desired.
- A relevant professional membership such as RICS, CIArb or CIOB would be advantageous, but is not essential.
