An exciting opportunity for a Senior Risk Manager or Risk Manager to join a leading construction consultancy delivering aviation construction projects at Stansted Airport. This site-based role offers involvement in complex airport infrastructure works, providing risk management expertise across live operational environments.

The Senior Risk Manager will be deployed on a programme of aviation construction projects at Stansted Airport, one of the UK’s major international airports. Projects will include a range of airside and landside developments such as terminal upgrades, infrastructure improvements and operational enhancements. Based on site at the airport construction office, the role will support risk management across projects delivered within a live, operational aviation environment requiring careful coordination and planning.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Deliver comprehensive risk management services across the full project lifecycle, ensuring effective risk identification, analysis and mitigation.
  • Deliver risk management services in a consistent and professional manner exceeding client expectations.
  • Implement effective risk management processes to reduce project uncertainty and risk exposure.
  • Develop and implement risk management frameworks aligned with industry best practice.
  • Facilitate risk workshops and engage project teams in proactive risk identification and mitigation.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk analysis using industry-recognised tools.
  • Produce clear and concise risk reports tailored to project and programme requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement of risk management processes, tools and systems.
  • Assist in the development of innovative risk management approaches.
  • Support bid preparation and proposals to secure new work.
  • Contribute to business development and client engagement activities.
  • Promote risk management services within the wider construction and infrastructure sector.
  • Ensure integration of risk management with project controls, planning and cost management.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Around 5+ years’ experience in risk management within construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience on major infrastructure programmes such as rail, transportation, or energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management methodologies aligned to ISO31000, APM or IRM standards.
  • Experience facilitating risk workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions.
  • Proven ability to undertake qualitative and quantitative risk analysis.
  • Experience producing risk reports to support decision-making.
  • Familiarity with risk management tools such as ARM, Xactium, Primavera Risk Analysis, Safran Risk, @Risk or Risk Predict.
  • Understanding of value management and its application on infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of integration between risk, planning, cost and commercial functions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Professional qualification in Risk Management or related field is desirable.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. APM, IRM) is advantageous.
