A new exciting M & E Quantity Surveyor with a new employer. This is a remote position that requires travel to various sites. Travel expenses incurred for site visits will be fully reimbursed. This is an opportunity to advance your career with a company that appreciates your skills and dedication.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the cost and value of mechanical and electrical installations on construction projects. The employer provides tender support for main contractor clients. The role will involve working on residential projects. Project values will range from £5 million to £24 million. There is a requirement for some UK travel, so a full driving licence and a car are required.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for M&E works on various building construction projects.
- Evaluate tenders and prepare contract documentation for M&E services.
- Monitor, manage, and control project expenditure to ensure that costs remain within budget.
- Conduct regular cost and value reporting, identifying cost variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Assist in procurement of M&E subcontractors, materials, and suppliers.
- Assess subcontractor applications, valuations, and payments.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams to resolve any cost or contractual issues.
- Prepare and negotiate final accounts with contractors and clients.
- Provide advice on contractual claims and variations related to M&E elements of the project.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with financial and contractual standards.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a focus on M&E projects.
- Previous experience working with a main contractor would be ideal.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in construction.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge of relevant building regulations, contracts, and standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a project team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Driving license and a car.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
