The predicted salary is between 50000 - 65000 £ per year.

A Quantity Surveyor is required for a tier 1 civils and infrastructure main contractor, to be responsible for tunnels and structure schemes, 3rd party works, and borough works. The total value of works you will be responsible for will eventually be circa £32.5m per annum. You will initially be based in North Greenwich in East London, moving to Docklands after 6 – 12 months.

You will be one of the Quantity Surveyors on a Tunnels and structure schemes at a value of £2.5m per annum, 3rd party works potentially growing to £10m per annum over the next year, and Borough works currently at £10m per annum but with potential to grow to £20m per annum.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Commercially manage multiple frameworks simultaneously with a combined potential value of over £32.5m per annum
  • Act as a role model to other junior Quantity Surveyors
  • Help prepare the reporting on the project financial position
  • Be able to assist with the pricing of major variations and extra works
  • Prepare commercial reports for internal & external approval and use
  • Help prepare expert contractual, financial and commercial advice to the project teams
  • Effective management of risk and opportunities
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience in tunnels and structures in either construction or maintenance is preferred, alternatively “systems experience” (railway signals etc)
  • Highway maintenance experience is preferred, if not highway construction experience
  • Experience working for a Main or Subcontractor is essential
  • Within commutable distance to North Greenwich / Docklands
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
  • Degree in construction related discipline is preferred however not essential – experience is more important for this role
