An Intermediate Quantity Surveyor is being sought by a reputable construction consultancy in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The successful candidate will be required to work upon multiple build projects including: fit outs, new builds and refurbishments in sectors such as: education, residential, healthcare and commercial.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Working closely with multidisciplinary teams
- Assessing, understanding, and assisting in the delivery of pre and post contract services as Quantity Surveyor
- Validation of cost structures
- Production of accurate cost estimates
- Providing interim payment applications
- Giving procurement advice
- Valuations
- Assessing variations and working on claim assessments, defending contractor claims where necessary
- Cost reporting for clients
- Taking ownership and responsibility for your work
Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience working on a wide range of build projects is desirable.
- IT literate
- Effective communicator; both written and verbal.
- The ability to work efficiently within a team as well as independently.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
A degree or similar equivalent in Quantity Surveying or alternative relevant discipline is highly desirable but not essential for this role.
