An Intermediate Quantity Surveyor is being sought by a reputable construction consultancy in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The successful candidate will be required to work upon multiple build projects including fit outs, new builds and refurbishments in the North East region, across sectors such as education, residential, healthcare and commercial.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Working closely with multidisciplinary teams
  • Assessing, understanding, and assisting in the delivery of pre and post contract services as Quantity Surveyor
  • Validation of cost structures
  • Production of accurate cost estimates
  • Providing interim payment applications
  • Giving procurement advice
  • Valuations
  • Assessing variations and working on claim assessments, defending contractor claims where necessary
  • Cost reporting for clients
  • Taking ownership and responsibility for your work

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience working on a wide range of build projects is desirable.
  • IT literate
  • Effective communicator; both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work efficiently within a team as well as independently.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

A degree or similar equivalent in Quantity Surveying or alternative relevant discipline is highly desirable but not essential for this role.
