An expanding consultancy is seeking to appoint a highly experienced Associate Director – Quantum to join its expert witness division in Manchester. The successful candidate must have experience either acting as the appointed expert on smaller matters or have experience acting as the No.2 / lead assistant to quantum experts. You will work for a highly reputable consultancy consisting of quantum experts recognised by Who’s Who Legal (WWL).

The Associate Director – Quantum will play a key role in leading, managing, and contributing to quantum expert commissions for the Forensic Expert Witness team. This involves devising and discussing solutions, presenting findings both internally and externally, and driving efficiency, value creation, and optimal use of resources within the team. The Associate Director may also take on their own appointments (expert, contentious, and non-contentious), either independently or in collaboration with the wider team, ensuring effective delivery and oversight. Deliverables typically relate to formal dispute resolution processes such as litigation, arbitration, and adjudication. In addition, the Associate Director will provide strategic advice on ongoing projects, settlement negotiations, and mediations, both in the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Represent the consultancy in dispute resolution proceedings
  • Act as an Expert on smaller disputes or act as a No.2 to the lead Quantum expert on large disputes
  • Prepare expert reports
  • Business Development and promoting the consultancy’s brand and services to potential clients and employees and championing the organisation’s values and objectives
  • Work towards building a reputation as a testifying expert
  • Overseeing team administration
  • Staff Development and training

  • Experience working as a No.2 to an expert on multiple occasions
  • Experience across different markets, types of construction and engineering projects and claims
