A Managing Consultant role to join a market‑leading Expert Witness consultancy based out of central London. The successful candidate will work within the Project Management (PM) Expert Services division and provide analytic support to the lead expert on PM‑related expert services. In this role you may also gain exposure to providing high level strategic advice to clients on major domestic and international projects, as part of the advisory service our client offers. Over the course of a 12‑month period, you will have exposure to a variety of projects. Our hiring company is known for handling major international disputes for expert services, often for projects in excess of £100 m and on the higher end, even into the billions GBP.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Work closely with the lead expert to provide analytical and practical support for PM‑related expert services, often for disputes heading for arbitration or litigation.
- Scrutinise documentation related to the dispute, assess grounds for negligence, and provide an expert opinion based on your findings.
- Draft sections of the expert report and be prepared for cross‑examination internally based on your findings.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Successful track record of working for a reputable, professional PM consultancy for a consistent period of time.
- Articulate with strong client‑facing skills.
- Experience in industry/projects that enables identification of grounds for negligence when assessing programmes of works.
- Analytical and methodical approach with ability to scrutinise documentation to a high level of detail.
- Experience working for a professional PM consultancy and prior main‑contractor experience is desirable but not essential.
- Exposure to delay‑related claims issues such as extensions of time would be advantageous.
- Exposure to assisting on expert‑witness related work would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Member of a relevant professional body such as CIOB, ICE, RICS or a comparable equivalent.
- Hold a relevant degree or an equivalent qualification.
