The core business of this employer relates to the highest quality fit out and refurbishment work on commercial, residential, retail and hospitality projects mostly located around Central London. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of fit-out and refurbishment projects across those sectors.

This employer seeks a technically skilled professional with lateral thinking, first‐class communication skills, strong commercial awareness, and will provide a first‐class cost management service to premium Clients.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Managing all cost management aspects throughout the lifecycle of fit‐out and refurbishment projects.
  • Preparing and managing cost estimates, budgets, and detailed cost plans.
  • Providing procurement advice and leading the tendering process.
  • Conducting cost reporting, valuations, and change management processes.
  • Ensuring accurate, timely delivery of financial reporting for clients.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Advising clients on procurement, risk, and contractual issues.
  • Delivering high‐quality reports, cost forecasts, and advice.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior colleagues, assisting with their development and career progression.
  • Working collaboratively within the team to meet project milestones and business objectives.
  • Supporting the identification of new business opportunities and maintaining relationships with existing clients.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in cost management, specifically within fit‐out and refurbishment sectors in London.
  • Sector experience in at least one of the following: commercial, residential, retail, or hospitality.
  • A track record of successful project delivery with demonstrable client satisfaction.
  • Strong understanding of construction techniques, procurement options, and lifecycle cost management.
  • Proficient in preparing cost estimates, managing budgets, and delivering reports.
  • Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor and lead junior staff.
  • Commercially aware with an ability to think strategically and laterally.
  • Confident in the use of Microsoft Office and other role related software packages.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent is desired.
  • MRICS accreditation (or working towards membership) is preferred.
