An exciting new role has been created to work as the sole Buyer for an established Leicester based Architectural Glazing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's supply chain and ensuring that the business has adequate stock at all times. This relates to both the manufacturing and delivery of windows. Your role will also include the sourcing, negotiation and purchasing of materials and relevant equipment to deliver projects on the contract side of the business.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Actively source the most cost effective suppliers
  • Negotiating with suppliers
  • Purchasing
  • Stock monitoring
  • Writing of reports
  • Liaise with the Works Manager to discuss stock control is maintained
  • Procurement of sub contracted labour

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Good working knowledge of common IT systems
  • Ideally the candidate will have some experience in a similar role, specific to work within the construction industry
  • Highly organised, with strong planning skills
  • Needs to have the ability to proactively seek new and efficient ways to procure materials and services for the business, with a view to minimising costs whilst maintaining quality
  • Will ideally have some technical knowledge relating to construction
