The successful candidate will manage construction claims and complex adjudications involving Tier 1 and 2 contractors and specialist subcontractors. The work will involve collaborating closely with solicitors and clients on a range of dispute resolution assignments across the construction and engineering sectors.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead a growing team delivering high-quality construction dispute resolution services
- Manage complex claims and adjudication
- Provide strategic contractual and commercial advice to clients throughout the lifecycle of a dispute
- Oversee client relationships with Tier 1 and 2 contractors, specialist subcontractors, and legal advisors/solicitors
- Develop and implement business development and marketing strategies to expand the disputes practice
- Contribute to company leadership and sector strategy within construction disputes
- Support recruitment, training, and mentoring of junior staff where required
Desired Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in quantity surveying and experience working with standard forms of contracts such as NEC
- Significant experience working on construction claims and adjudications
- Well connected in the construction industry
- Proven leadership and business development capability
- Strong understanding of UK construction contracts and dispute resolution procedures
- Excellent client-facing and networking skills
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or similar discipline (essential)
- LLM in Construction Law or similar (preferred)
- Chartered status with RICS, CIOB, or similar professional body (preferred)
