A Quantity Surveyor is required to work within the Fit Out Division of a multi-disciplinary Contractor based in North West London. The successful candidate will mainly work on retail projects, with a focus on the fit out of petrol station forecourts. Typical clients will include major international oil companies, retailers, and independent traders. Project values within this division range between £750k - £1.5m. The company also has ambitious plans to widen their client base into the general retail sector.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Report to the Divisional Commercial Manager for the Fit Out Division
- Provide general day-to-day commercial and contractual assistance
- Take responsibility for one or more projects concurrently
- Contract administration
- Subcontractor management
- Conducting valuations
- Conducting measurements
- Cost value reconciliations
- Change schedule management
- Variations (compensation/additional time/additional works)
- Pricing compensation
- Client liaison management
- Preparation of claims
- Preparation of final accounts
- Issuing interim payments certificates
Desired Skills and Experience
- A minimum of a couple of years experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor or subcontractor in the construction industry
- Previous experience on Fit Out projects would be an advantage, but not essential
- Strong post-contract experience as a Quantity Surveyor is desired
- Ability to handle projects/packages of work in the region of £750k - £1.5m is desired
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Qualified to Degree level or hold a similar equivalent qualification
