A Quantity Surveyor is required to work within the Fit Out Division of a multi-disciplinary Contractor based in North West London. The successful candidate will mainly work on retail projects, particularly focusing on the fit out of petrol station forecourts. Typical clients will include major international oil companies, retailers, and independent traders. Project values within this division range between £750k - £1.5m. The company also has ambitious plans to widen their client base into the general retail sector.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Report to the Divisional Commercial Manager for the Fit Out Division
- Provide general day-to-day commercial and contractual assistance
- Take responsibility for one or more projects concurrently
- Contract administration
- Subcontractor management
- Conducting valuations
- Conducting measurements
- Cost value reconciliations
- Change schedule management
- Variations (compensation/additional time/additional works)
- Pricing compensation
- Client liaison management
- Preparation of claims
- Preparation of final accounts
- Issuing interim payments certificates
Desired Skills and Experience
- A minimum of a couple of years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor or subcontractor in the construction industry
- Previous experience on Fit Out projects would be an advantage, but not essential
- Strong post-contract experience as a Quantity Surveyor is desired
- Ability to handle projects/packages of work in the region of £750k - £1.5m is desired
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Qualified to Degree level or hold a similar equivalent qualification
