Overview
As a Senior Delay Consultant, you will support senior management on complex disputes, lead your own assignments, and work with clients on claims from live construction projects.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Collaborate with Delay Analysts to support disputed and time‑related issues.
- Review construction programmes and provide guidance.
- Offer expert, commercially focused counsel to help clients avoid conflicts.
- Support clients on matters related to delay and loss.
- Collaborate with commercial experts on disputed and non‑controversial time‑related issues.
- Provide timely delay‑related coaching and training to numerous clients.
- Write reports and represent clients in tribunals.
- Collaborate with solicitors offering expert support in construction‑related disputes.
- Engage in business development activities.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Approx. 10 years postgraduate experience in the construction industry.
- Prior experience in live planning and programming roles for contracting organisations or delay analysis work at a disputes consultancy.
- Familiarity with programmes and programming software.
- Proficiency in P6, Asta Powerproject, MS Project.
- Formal involvement in managing or supporting disputes (adjudication, arbitration, litigation) is advantageous.
- Well‑presented, articulate, client‑facing communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of standard contract forms such as NEC and JCT.
- Competent with Microsoft Office packages.
