The predicted salary is between 45000 - 52000 £ per year.
The successful candidate for this Quality Technical Inspector role will have experience in both new-build housing and residential construction projects as well as health, education and commercial projects. You will be based in Essex. Experience of new build building and building refurbishment, as well as detailed knowledge of various forms of construction would be advantageous. In addition, knowledge of fire safety and fire safety remediation would be an advantage. You will be required to cover projects in Essex.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Undertake regular inspections of construction work to monitor progress and quality (driving licence essential to be able to do this)
- Verify compliance with contractual drawings and specifications & warranty standards
- Provide advice on quality management.
- Liaise with building contractors
- Prepare reports for Employer Agents and Project Managers
- Prepare snagging reports with photos using tablet-based software (Plan Radar / Field View etc)
Desired Skills and Experience
- Previous experience of inspecting new-build and refurbishment projects as a Quality Technical Inspector
- Experience of writing well-presented reports to a high standard
- Good organisation skills to be able to organise and prioritise your workload
- Great communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good up to date technical knowledge and the ability to read construction drawings
- IT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Word and Outlook (Excel is desirable but not essential)
- Full driving license required - ESSENTIAL
Qualifications / Educational Requirements
- Quality Technical Inspector / Clerk of Works ICWCI qualification as MICWCI or Assoc. ICWCI or even LICWCI is preferred
- Other designations such CIOB, CABE, RICS, IFE will also be considered if happy to obtain ICWCI qualification soon after joining the company.
