This quantity surveyor job is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Cost Consultant to join a cost consulting team based near Brighton. The role offers exposure to fund monitoring and traditional quantity surveying services, with strong support towards long-term career development and MRICS progression. The successful candidate will support a range of construction projects across the South East of England. These include residential, mixed-use and commercial developments where cost control, reporting and fund monitoring services are provided to clients.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assisting with cost planning, cost reporting and financial control on construction projects
- Supporting fund monitoring services, including review of drawdowns, valuations and lender reports
- Preparing written reports and professional advice for clients and funders
- Assisting with procurement, tender analysis and contract administration duties
- Attending site inspections and meetings across the South East of England
- Working both independently and as part of a small consultancy team
- Maintaining accurate project records and supporting best practice cost management

- A strong understanding of construction costs, budgets and project management principles
