A Senior Consultant Claims and Dispute Resolution job vacancy with a leading blue chip national and international construction claims and construction industry dispute consultancy. A role to work with a specialist team of construction experts within the fields of construction sector procurement strategy, construction claims management and construction dispute resolution.
Your role will focus within the specialist construction claims and dispute resolution team, which works across the UK and also on international construction projects. The construction claims and disputes team work on claims and disputes for clients based from specialist hubs in major English cities and Scottish cities.
Birmingham in the West Midlands is one of the preferred locations for the Senior Claims and Dispute Resolution Consultant, allowing liaison in person with nationally recognised experts based from the claims and dispute hub in Birmingham. Additional possible locations include London, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Strong candidates based in other UK locations will be considered if willing to travel as required.
The portfolio of claims and dispute work includes a range of civil and building projects located in the UK as well as expert service assignments in international locations. Building construction claim and dispute resolution work often involves major retail and health-related projects, while civil engineering construction claims focus on major rail construction projects and infrastructure upgrades.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supporting expert witnesses in arbitral or litigation processes.
- Presenting research findings orally and in written form to lawyers and senior client representatives.
- Offering advice on a range of national and international construction contract forms.
- Applying robust and methodical analytical skills while adopting a flexible approach to problems.
- Working independently to a high standard and integrating with dispute team members.
- Providing claims and dispute consultancy advice on live contracts and projects in distress.
- Undertaking business development duties with existing clients and developing new ones.
- Preparing and supporting bid proposal work in association with Senior Management.

- A Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Cost Management degree is expected.
