Your new role
Working within our Fleet Department, reporting to the Fleet Engineer, based in Warrington. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Fleet Managers to support the efficient management of our vehicle fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the fleet, including dispatch, scheduling, and maintenance coordination.
- Monitor and schedule regular preventative maintenance and inspections for all fleet vehicles.
- Track and manage fleet data, including fuel consumption, mileage, service records, and driver defects.
- Support compliance with legal obligations.
- Assist in vehicle acquisition, leasing, and disposal processes.
- Coordinate with mechanics, drivers, and vendors to ensure timely service and repairs.
- Conduct regular fleet audits and inspections.
- Assist in accident investigation procedures and insurance claim documentation.
- Monitor GPS systems and telematics to track vehicle performance and driver behaviour.
- Provide administrative support including record-keeping, invoicing, and budgeting.
- Train and support drivers in company policies and safety protocols.
What skills & qualification do you require?
- Level 2/3 HGV maintenance preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in fleet management, transportation, or logistics support.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and transportation regulations.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid drivers license required; Class 1 preference but not essential.
- Experience with GPS tracking and telematics platforms.
- Familiarity with budgeting and cost control related to fleet operations.
- Ability to analyse data and prepare reports to support decision-making.
Shift patterns
- Days: Alternate 06:00-14:00 & 12:00-20:00 (Monday - Friday)
- Nights: 18:00-06:00 (Monday - Friday)
