Project Manager - Business Systems Transformation
Bury, Lancashire
£50,000 - £60,000 + Benefits
12-Month Fixed-Term Contract + Potential for Extension
If you’re an experienced Project Manager who can bring structure to complex systems implementations and get people working together to deliver change, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact across an established international business.
Our client is a leading supplier of branded textile accessories across the UK and Europe, investing significantly in a transformation programme spanning ERP, PIM and PLM systems. Reporting to the PMO Manager, you’ll work with a dedicated project team, departmental leads and external partners to deliver practical solutions that improve processes and support future growth.
Success will depend on your ability to build relationships, balance competing priorities and challenge constructively to keep decisions and delivery on track. With the support of an experienced PMO Manager and the autonomy to take ownership, you’ll help colleagues across the business embrace new systems and ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and deliver interconnected systems projects against agreed scope, budgets, milestones and timescales.
- Work closely with business process owners and implementation partners throughout discovery, solution design and delivery.
- Gather, document and validate requirements, translating business needs into clear project deliverables.
- Coordinate internal teams and external suppliers, maintaining accountability for actions and deadlines.
- Manage risks, issues and dependencies, keeping project plans, RAID logs and progress reporting accurate and current.
- Facilitate productive discussions, resolve blockers and secure timely decisions, escalating concerns where required.
- Support business readiness, communication and adoption, helping colleagues understand and embrace new ways of working.
- Maintain momentum through implementation and post-launch support, ensuring changes deliver the intended business benefits.
Skills & Experience
- A proven track record of delivering business systems implementations or substantial transformation projects.
- Practical implementation experience involving ERP, PIM or PLM systems, ideally with exposure to more than one.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage parallel workstreams and competing priorities.
- Confident stakeholder management skills, including experience influencing senior colleagues and coordinating teams across departments.
- The judgement to adapt your communication style, challenge respectfully and keep people focused on shared outcomes.
- Experience working with third-party suppliers, consultants or implementation partners.
- A proactive, independent approach, with the ability to get into the detail and remain calm when priorities change.
- Strong digital skills, including Microsoft 365 and project planning, reporting and collaboration tools.
Relevant project or change management qualifications, such as PRINCE2, APM, PMI or Prosci, would be welcome, although successful practical delivery matters more than formal certification. Experience joining a business on a fixed-term basis and making an early contribution would also be valuable.
In return, you’ll join a business investing seriously in its future, with an engaged leadership team and a dedicated project environment. Benefits include 22 days’ annual leave plus your birthday off, 4% employer pension contributions, life assurance at four times salary, private healthcare subject to eligibility, free parking and onsite electric vehicle charging.
