NHS - Senior Technical Infrastructure Engineer - Up to £350.00 per day (Outside IR35) for 6 months in duration - primarily onsite working.

Senior Technical Infrastructure Engineer required to support an established NHS Trust in Merseyside.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior escalation and lead resolution of infrastructure issues across M365, Azure and on-prem platforms.
  • Own and support M365 services including Exchange Online and Teams (mail flow, permissions, policy, meeting and service issues).
  • Entra ID knowledge including access control, conditional access, and identity troubleshooting.
  • Lead investigation and resolution of problems and incidents, including root cause analysis and permanent fixes.
  • Build and maintain virtual infrastructure (VMware/Windows Server).
  • Drive automation and standardisation using PowerShell and best practice configurations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical standards, documentation and service improvement.

Knowledge of the following systems required:

  • VMware (design, build and troubleshooting).
  • Strong VM/Server Infrastructure experience.
  • M365 (Senior Administration).
  • Azure/Entra ID.
  • Active Directory including Group Policy.
  • Exchange Online (mail flow, security, permissions).
