The Stockroom Controller is a full-time, on-site role shared between the Edinburgh Multrees Walk Max Mara Store (24hrs) and the Max Mara concession within Harvey Nichols (16hrs). You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient management of all stockroom operations. This role includes receiving, checking, labeling, and organizing incoming merchandise, as well as maintaining accurate inventory records and stock levels. The Stockroom Controller will prepare products for the sales floor, coordinate replenishment, and support visual merchandising by ensuring items are available and in excellent condition.

Daily tasks include conducting stock counts, monitoring discrepancies, and collaborating with store management and sales teams to optimize product availability and minimize loss. The role also involves maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant stockroom environment and following company procedures for shipping, returns, and transfers.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in stockroom, inventory, or logistics roles within retail or a similar environment, ideally in fashion or luxury goods.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deliveries and requests.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in stock handling, documentation, and inventory systems.
  • Comfort using inventory management tools, POS systems, and basic digital applications (e.g., Excel, email, handheld devices).
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and organizing merchandise in compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative working style to support store, retail, and visual merchandising teams.
  • Customer-focused mindset, supporting product availability and store presentation to enhance the overall client experience.
  • Flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends and peak periods, as required.
  • Previous experience in an international or multi-brand environment and interest in fashion and style are considered a plus.
