This is a hybrid role, combining office-based working at our Salford Head Office with field-based customer visits. Flexibility is available for the right candidate.

The Role

As a Client Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in developing and managing strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical manufacturers across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded professional who enjoys building relationships, influencing senior stakeholders, and making a real impact within the pharmaceutical industry.

Roles and Responsibilities

As our Client Manager, you will:

  • Build and manage long-term relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers and key industry stakeholders.
  • Identify and secure new commercial opportunities through networking and business development.
  • Negotiate Hospital Distribution Agreements and commercial contracts.
  • Grow existing manufacturer partnerships to increase revenue and profitability.
  • Monitor market trends, medicines shortages, and commercial opportunities.
  • Work closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality and Customer Services to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
  • Support supplier-led promotional initiatives and business development projects.
  • Represent Mawdsleys at customer meetings, networking events, conferences and industry exhibitions.

What We're Looking For From You

We're looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Client Manager who can confidently build relationships and influence senior decision-makers across the pharmaceutical industry.

You’ll have

  • Proven experience in pharmaceutical sales, business development, account management or commercial management.
  • A strong network of contacts within the UK pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial negotiation experience with a track record of delivering successful agreements.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret commercial and financial data.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems, ERP platforms and contract management tools.
  • The ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively across multiple business functions.
  • A willingness to travel regularly for customer meetings, conferences and industry events.

It would be advantageous if you also have

  • Experience working with NHS procurement, hospital pharmacy or tendering processes.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chains or hospital distribution.
  • Direct procurement or pharmaceutical wholesale experience.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
  • Ongoing professional development and training.
  • The opportunity to join a growing Hospital Division with genuine opportunities for career progression.
  • The chance to build strategic partnerships that directly support patient care across the UK.
  • A collaborative, supportive culture within a long-established family-owned business.
