The Opportunity

As a Regional Hospital Account Manager, you will be the key link between Mawdsleys and hospital pharmacy teams across your region. You’ll build strong commercial relationships, maximise account performance, and identify opportunities for sales growth across our pharmaceutical portfolio. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a customer-facing, commercially driven environment and understands how to navigate the NHS, hospital pharmacy teams, and local healthcare structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage all hospital accounts within your region to deliver revenue and margin growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across hospital pharmacy teams, ensuring Mawdsleys is a trusted partner.
  • Conduct regular account analysis, monitor product performance, identify declining usage, and spot emerging trends.
  • Drive strategic sales plans and identify new growth opportunities across the portfolio.
  • Use multiple data sources to uncover insights, evaluate compliance, and identify off-contract opportunities.
  • Promote Mawdsleys’ Hospital Distribution arrangements to support seamless customer partnerships.
  • Plan and prioritise your territory effectively, defending existing business while expanding new opportunities.
  • Collaborate internally with warehousing, logistics, finance, and commercial colleagues to support customer needs.
  • Resolve day-to-day customer issues with a solution-focused approach.
  • Share insights, challenges, and opportunities with the wider business to support continuous improvement.
  • Attend internal and external meetings (virtual and in-person) as required.

About You

Essential skills & experience:

  • Strong background in pharmaceutical sales, account management, or customer-facing roles (minimum 3 years).
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Highly analytical with strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Confident relationship builder with excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Results-driven with a proactive, motivated approach.
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel and data analysis.
  • Flexible and able to travel across central and southern England regions as required.

Desirable:

  • Pharmacy Technician or worked in the hospital pharmacy purchasing departments would be an advantage.
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Knowledge of the NHS, hospital structures, and regional healthcare environments.
