This is an excellent opportunity for a Purchasing Officer to join our team on a Full Time Permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely procurement of goods and services essential to our operations. Familiarity with purchasing systems such as Sage is highly desirable. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to organisational efficiency while developing your career within a dynamic environment.
The Role:
- Process and manage purchase orders, negotiate prices, delivery terms, and contracts with suppliers to optimise costs and efficiency.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of goods and materials, following up on overdue orders.
- Manage flow of supplies to production to allow smooth running of daily production plan.
- Work with Engineers to identify specialised, non-stock items required for build process and source/purchase these.
- Receive goods, ensure all deliveries are checked and signed for, and process relevant paperwork.
- Investigate and resolve any anomalies.
- Maintain stock accuracy by carrying out stock counts and keeping the store organised and tidy.
- Ensure Health and Safety procedures are followed and report any issues to Supervisor.
The Person:
- Experience in a similar role is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, logistics, and procurement best practice.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to establish favourable terms with suppliers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages and computerised systems – Outlook, Word, Excel, Sage (training provided).
- Good communication skills, capable of liaising effectively across departments and with external vendors.
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to effectively plan, organise and control daily workload.
