Hours: Part Time, Monday to Sunday (Alternate Weekends) + holiday cover when required 22 hrs per week (7am-6pm)

Are you passionate about great food and creating a homely dining experience? We’re looking for a Catering Technician to join our team and lead the kitchen in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals for our residents.

What you'll be doing:

  • Preparing and serving delicious, well-presented meals, snacks, and baked treats.
  • Working with residents to understand their preferences, dietary needs, and cultural or medical requirements.
  • Ensuring mealtimes feel like a restaurant experience, with attention to detail in plating and service.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Managing stock, placing food orders, and keeping within budget.
  • Supporting and mentoring colleagues involved in the meal service.

About you:

  • Experienced in food preparation and passionate about quality.
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements and willingness to adapt meals for individual needs.
  • Food Safety Level 3 (or willingness to complete).
  • Organised, proactive, and a great team player.
  • Committed to providing a warm, welcoming environment for residents.
  • Flexible, with the ability to work alternate weekends.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.

How You’ll Make a Difference:

You’ll be responsible for our residents’ meal experience and running the nursing home’s kitchen. Leading and supporting a team, you will:

  • Design a varied menu that reflects our residents’ tastes and supports their nutritional needs.
  • Ensuring mealtimes are always a high-quality experience.
  • Maintaining the highest food standards.
  • Supporting, training and directing the kitchen team.
  • Mentoring and motivating on quality, safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  • Assisting the Home Manager in developing and managing the budgetary, human and material resources within the department.
