About the Opportunity

We are seeking laboratory professionals and point-of-care (POC) staff with hands-on expertise in blood gas sample collection and analysis.

This role involves sharing your expertise on collection procedures, preanalytical challenges, hospital practices, and error prevention—or with potential to inform—how blood gas testing practices and processes can be improved.

Your insights will help us understand current workflows, identify sources of preanalytical error, and explore opportunities for improved sample collection and analysis protocols.

This is a flexible consulting engagement that can be completed alongside full-time employment.

Time commitment is based entirely on your availability and schedule.

  • Relevant Experience
  • Collecting arterial or venous blood gas samples using syringe samples in hospital or laboratory settings.
  • Performing blood gas analysis or managing point-of-care testing workflows.
  • Understanding preanalytical errors, sample handling, and quality control in blood gas testing.
  • Identifying challenges in sample collection, transport, and analysis procedures.
  • Collaborating with laboratory teams on testing protocols and error prevention.
  • Knowledge of arterial and venous blood gas testing best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience troubleshooting sample-related issues and quality assurance failures.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or certification in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in blood gas sample collection, point-of-care testing, or laboratory operations.
  • Direct responsibility for or insight into blood gas sample collection and/or analysis practices.
  • Current or recent role as laboratory technician, POC staff, or laboratory professional.
