We have an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified accountant to join their Glasgow based finance team. The role will report into the Finance Director and will assist with the financial control, management and reporting of a wide variety of private equity and property entities.

The role & responsibilities

  • Preparation of management and statutory accounts for a range of accounting entities over the Group, Funds and Property business units.
  • Maintaining accounting processes including purchase ledgers, fixed income schedules, bank reconciliations as appropriate, ensuring appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented, documented and maintained.
  • Preparation and lodging of VAT returns.
  • Preparation of board papers on a quarterly basis including expense forecasts, revenue estimates, cashflows etc.
  • Cash flow forecasting, financial modelling and treasury duties.
  • Various ad hoc initiatives as directed by the Finance Director.
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure audits run as smooth as possible and accounts are signed off within required timescales.
  • Liaising with internal investments teams.
  • Provide team cross-cover when business needs dictate.

What you need to succeed

  • Accounting qualification required, preferably CA / ACCA, with previous financial accounting and management reporting experience.
  • The candidate should be confident, a self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment.
  • They must be able to demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, good judgement showing logical decision making, and a hands‑on approach.
  • Excellent time management and adherence to deadlines.
  • Computer literate with intermediate to advanced level excel skills and solid understanding of accounting software principles.
  • Experience of using SAGE and Xero accounting package desirable.
  • Ability to work well in a team, but also to use your own initiative.
  • Strong administration and organisational skills.
