An opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader to work within the day services. This is a day programme for those experiencing an eating disorder and is based at the Maudsley hospital. Main duties of the job You will require a good understanding of how eating disorders impact on individuals’ lives and be able to work to promote recovery as defined by the service user. You will bring core skills of a clinician and contribute to risk management and physical health monitoring. There is a strong emphasis on group and individual work focused around social inclusion and recovery. The post holder will be expected to deliver interventions which are contextually relevant and may be carried out in a variety of settings relevant to the service user. Detailed job description and main responsibilities To have management responsibility for the delivery of care of Eating Disorders Outpatients and Day care department, in accordance with Trust policies and procedures. The post holder will be crucial in role modelling safe and effective practice with the service. The role involves leading the delivery of high-quality evidence-based practice, ensuring that regular supervision and appraisals take place. Management of administrative and operational resources in a cost-effective manner and evaluating the standard of service delivered are essential. It will involve line management and co-ordination of the wider multidisciplinary team, maintaining excellent communication and working relationships with all team members, and other services within the Trust, to ensure effective interface and continuity of care between disciplines and services. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring that staff within the Team achieve positive outcomes for adults with eating disorders and that these are evidenced by performance indicators such as activity data, targets and quality measures. Working in partnership with agencies and other services to support integrated practice and service delivery. Manage your own caseload which will be negotiated to reflect the demand of the management role. There is an expectation that the post holder will place the needs of service users at the centre of care delivery. The postholder must be able to work flexible across the wider ED service when needed to support with clinical demands and provide safe care to patients. Person specification Qualifications A core mental health qualification, for example in nursing, psychology, occupational therapy and Physician associate. All applicants will require professional registration with their respective statutory body. A portfolio of post-registration clinical professional development. Management course. Experience Substantial experience of managing clinical or psychological practice. Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and knowledge of methods to develop culturally sensitive practice. Evidence of providing interventions in group, individual and family work, multidisciplinary work. Knowledge of performance management procedures. Knowledge Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to analyse complex issues/problems, gather relevant information and exercise sound judgement in reaching the most appropriate conclusions. Evidence of undertaking audit work.
