Our client is an innovative and rapidly growing technology business looking to appoint a hands-on Finance Manager to work closely with an experienced part-time CFO. Taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function, you'll play a key role in monthly reporting, forecasting, process improvements and supporting the business as it continues to grow. This is a broad role with genuine exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to develop as the finance function evolves.
Reporting to the part-time CFO, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day finance function, including purchase ledger, payments and supplier/customer queries
- Producing monthly management accounts, VAT returns and cash flow forecasts
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
- Working alongside external accountants on the year-end process
- Assisting with R&D tax credit claims
- Supporting project accounting and grant-funded projects
- Helping to improve finance systems, controls and reporting processes
- Providing financial support on a range of strategic business initiatives
We're looking for a proactive, hands-on finance professional who enjoys working in a growing business and taking ownership. You'll ideally have:
- At least 3 years' experience within a finance role
- AAT Level 4 or an equivalent finance qualification
- Experience producing management accounts, cash flow forecasts and financial reports
- Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
The following experience would be advantageous:
- R&D tax credit claims
- Project accounting or grant-funded projects
- Finance systems and process improvements
- Previous experience within a start-up or high-growth business
