Our client is a Private Equity backed scale-up in the media and entertainment space, with a presence in multiple areas such as publishing, entertainment, and media content. They have become a highly reputable and established presence in their space, with turnover exceeding £13 million and headcount at circa 60 and growing. This is a business where there are high levels of autonomy and influence on offer to all team members in the UK and internationally.

Throughout the last 5 years of growth, the business has retained its values-led culture, with a supportive atmosphere alongside a truly dynamic and exciting working environment. Working from modern offices in a central part of London, the company offers flexibility with working from home for 3 days of the week.

The Role: As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for a range of crucial duties to aid the successful running of the finance function and contribute to the wider business. Duties will also cover line management of a team of 6, while also reporting into a fantastic Finance Director well-known for their mentorship and development skills. The role will require a strong controllership background with experience of having tight control over cash flow.

  • Ownership of the Management Accounts ensuring smooth month-end procedures.
  • Monthly cash flow reporting.
  • Take responsibility for accurate royalty processing by the team.
  • Monthly board pack production.
  • Support with preparation of budgeting and annual forecasting process.
  • Prepare annual statutory accounts across group entities.
  • Contributing to the cash flow forecasting and budgeting.
  • Driving process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Lead and take responsibility for annual audit.
  • Mentoring junior finance colleagues.
  • Ad-Hoc projects to support the Finance Director.

What we need to see (essential):

  • Fully qualified (ACCA / ACA / ICAS / ICAEW).
  • Experience with Royalties (Publishing, Music, TV, Film, etc.).

What we'd like to see (bonus):

  • Background in publishing.

Location: London (2 days in office)
