Kickstart your career in wealth management with our Trainee Consultant Academy. Applications for our January 2026 intake are now open. Our Trainee Consultant Academy gives you the chance to learn directly from some of the industry\’s best consultants while getting paid—and earn your Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning along the way. This position is based at our Southport office. In your first six months with us, you will be attending in-person training sessions at the Leicester office on a bi-weekly basis. During this period, travel and accommodation will be covered. This isn’t just a training programme – it’s a career launchpad. Why join our academy? Who we’re looking for
- Ambitious, people-focused individuals ready to build a lasting career in financial planning.
- 2-3 years\’ experience in customer-facing roles (e.g., banking, mortgages, sales, customer service).
- Pass our full pre-employment background checks (including DBS).
- Full UK driving licence (manual preferred).
- Natural ability to build rapport and trust; strong literacy, numeracy, and attention to detail.
- Genuine interest in finance and a passion for supporting others to achieve their goals.
- Commitment and discipline to study independently to achieve the Level 4 Diploma.
- Demonstrate professionalism, strong ethics, and a positive attitude.
12-month journey
- Stage 1: Technical (Months 1-6) – achieve 4 of your 6 RO exams, learn the full advice process through training sessions, consultant shadowing of live client meetings and client support, attend monthly development sessions with expert trainers, and pass key milestone assessments throughout the stage (including roleplays and end of module assessments).
- Stage 2: Application (Months 7-12) – complete the final RO exams to achieve the diploma certification, shadow experienced advisers in live client meetings, professional contact meetings and networking events, deepen knowledge across pensions, protection, investments & tax, receive real-time consultancy support as you begin building your own client relationships.
