We have an exciting opportunity for a colleague to step into the role of Payroll Co-Ordinator within our Payroll team in Leicester. If you have a solid background in payroll and are looking for a role where your expertise is valued and your career can continue to grow, we'd love to hear from you.
In this key role, you'll work closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing across several trustee companies, whilst supporting and coaching junior members of the team.
What we're looking for:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar payroll role within a multi-payroll or complex environment
- Good understanding of UK statutory payroll requirements: PAYE, National Insurance, SSP/SMP, auto-enrolment pensions, and RTI reporting to HMRC
- Strong numerical, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work accurately with detailed information and manage competing priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with payroll systems such as Workday
- Clear communication skills, both oral and written
- Certificate/Diploma in Payroll or working towards a qualification (desirable)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with payroll processing for several trustee companies in a multi-payroll environment
- Move funds from scheme accounts to payroll accounts and ensure timely payment to clients' personal accounts
- Process payroll in accordance with statutory regulations and HMRC requirements
- Manage the master spreadsheet for payroll schemes and maintain accurate records
- Send payslips electronically or by post and check accuracy of new starters to payroll
- Reconcile relevant payroll bank accounts and ensure financial accuracy
- Liaise with Client Relationship Managers and Consultants to resolve queries
- Keep up to date with all relevant payroll changes and legislation
- Troubleshoot and test issues within the payroll functionality of Workday
- Support and coach junior members of the team alongside the Payroll Manager
