We are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join the Custodian Capital team in Leicester on a permanent basis. The purpose of this role is to operate in the Custodian Capital finance team maintaining accounting books and records and preparing the financial statements of investment entities for audit and filing. This role is pivotal in supporting the Custodian Capital finance team to operate efficiently and achieve its outputs. This role provides the potential to move towards a professionally qualified position in the finance team should the candidate demonstrate their ability to augment the team and potential to progress.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the finance team including:
  • Setting up new suppliers
  • Setting up payment runs
  • Preparing and submitting Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Assisting management accounting team with the preparation of quarterly management account packs and year end reporting
  • Assisting with the preparation of VAT returns

Requirements:

  • A-levels A-C grade or Level 3 equivalent
  • At least 1 year working in an accounting role
  • Proactive, enthusiastic and driven approach
  • Adopts a flexible approach within an ever-changing environment
  • Strong organisational skills
  • IT literate in Word and Excel
  • Work well under pressure, maintaining attention to detail
  • Can deal with all situations in an open and honest manner, showing integrity
  • Capable of working independently using own initiative and working as part of a team
  • Able to organise and prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met
