Some roles are about speed. This one is about trust. The best adviser relationships are rarely won in a pitch. They are built over time through credibility, judgement, honest conversations and a proposition that genuinely improves an adviser’s future. We’re looking for a senior professional to lead and grow Mattioli Woods’ adviser partnership and transition proposition - a structured, adviser-first approach designed to help financial advisers transition their businesses with greater confidence, certainty and optionality.

This is not traditional recruitment. And it is not volume-led; it's about understanding what advisers have spent decades building, recognising where they are in their journey, and helping them explore what the next chapter could look like. The proposition combines income underwriting, legal support, lead generation and a pathway to future liquidity, while allowing advisers to move at a pace that feels right for them and their clients.

Why this role is different: The advisers you’ll be speaking to are experienced professionals and business owners. They are not going to be rushed - and they shouldn’t be. Your role is to build trust, understand motivations, identify opportunities and guide conversations thoughtfully over time. The conversion follows from the relationship, not the other way around. It is a longer game. But for the right person, it is a far more meaningful one. This is also an opportunity to help shape one of the most adviser-centric growth initiatives in the UK wealth management market. You’ll play a central role in defining how Mattioli Woods supports succession, transition and growth for high-quality advisers in the years ahead.

What we're looking for:

  • Deep understanding of the UK financial adviser and wealth management market
  • Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills, with the emotional intelligence to navigate complex, long-term conversations
  • The ability to explain sophisticated commercial structures in clear, compelling language
  • Strong commercial judgement and the credibility to engage senior advisers and business owners
  • Disciplined pipeline management, with excellent attention to detail and follow-through
  • Resilience, patience and professionalism - understanding that timing is often more important than pressure
  • A naturally consultative and relationship-led approach
  • Experience within financial services recruitment, adviser acquisition, IFA consolidation, succession planning or strategic business development is highly desirable

What you'll do:

  • Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline through proactive outreach, referrals, professional networks and targeted campaigns
  • Develop strong relationships with advisers considering succession, transition or growth opportunities
  • Identify advisers approaching key inflection points in their business or career
  • Lead exploratory discussions that uncover motivations, ambitions, constraints and timing
  • Explain a sophisticated proposition simply, credibly and without jargon
  • Work closely with Marketing and E-Business teams to create content, campaigns and nurture journeys
  • Own the relationship journey from first conversation through to successful onboarding
  • Work cross-functionally with leadership, legal and compliance teams to structure and deliver successful adviser transitions
  • Maintain clear pipeline visibility and conversion management through CRM platforms including HubSpot and Xplan
  • Use market feedback and adviser insight to continually refine the proposition and strengthen market positioning
