If you enjoy investigative work, bringing order to complexity, and leaving a lasting impact, this role is for you.
What You’ll Be Doing- Reconciliation & Investigation

- Identify, investigate, and resolve unreconciled items, historic variances, and data gaps.
- Work through complex data sets with a methodical, investigative approach.
- Building for the Future
- Create clear, standardised balance sheet reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation.
- Design processes that the finance team can adopt and maintain for future periods.
- Document reconciliation processes, findings, and adjustments in a structured manner.
- Collaboration & Improvement
- Work with Finance and wider business stakeholders to obtain missing information and understand transaction flows.
- Recommend improvements to reconciliation practices, processes, and controls.
- Support month-end close activities ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare audit-ready working papers and documentation.
- Essential:
- Proven experience in reconciliation-intensive roles within a medium or large finance function.
- Strong understanding of nominal/general ledger accounting.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work through complex data sets.
- High attention to detail with a methodical problem-solving approach.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership.
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging at all levels.
- Desirable:
- Experience with Microsoft D365 Business Central.
- Background in finance transformation or clean-up projects.
- AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
- Competitive salary (depending on experience).
- 34.5-hour working week.
- Health cash plan (Core Level 1).
- 5% Employer / 5% employee pension.
- 4x salary life assurance & group income protection.
- 25 days’ holiday + statutory (increasing with service).
- Hybrid working – a blend of home and office time in Leicester.
- Training and development opportunities.
- A supportive, collaborative team environment.
You’ll have the opportunity to implement reconciliation processes, take ownership of a project, and leave behind processes that benefit the business long-term. You will be given autonomy in the role to deliver results and support where necessary. If you’re detail-oriented, enjoy problem-solving, and want a role where your work genuinely matters, we’d love to hear from you.
