Its project portfolio includes residential, mixed-use, renewable energy and commercial developments, as well as historic estates and heritage sites, ranging from smaller schemes to nationally significant projects.

This is a fully home-based position, with travel for site visits, client meetings, hearings and other project requirements. The consultancy operates nationally, with a strong pipeline of work across London and the South East.

The Role

You will take a senior position within the landscape planning team, combining technical delivery, project management, client engagement and business development.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading landscape planning commissions across a range of sectors and project scales.
  • Providing expert advice on planning policy, landscape matters and the development process.
  • Preparing and reviewing technical reports and landscape planning documentation.
  • Authoring and reviewing landscape chapters for EIA projects.
  • Preparing appeal statements and supporting expert witness work.
  • Undertaking site assessments and contributing to LVIA/TVIA.
  • Using GIS for landscape analysis and assessment.
  • Managing projects, programmes and client expectations.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and identifying new opportunities.
  • Supporting technical quality assurance and mentoring within the team.
  • Contributing to fee proposals, tenders and wider business development.

About You

You will be a Chartered Landscape Architect with 10+ years' post-qualification experience and a strong consultancy background in landscape planning.

You should have:

  • Excellent knowledge of UK planning policy and the planning process.
  • Strong report writing and technical review skills.
  • Experience with EIA landscape chapters and planning appeals.
  • Confidence undertaking site surveys and LVIA/TVIA assessments.
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills.
  • Good project management and commercial awareness.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a remote team.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Experience in landscape strategies, masterplanning, Landscape Institute work stages, business development, Adobe Creative Suite or CAD would be advantageous. Knowledge of historic landscapes or heritage sites would also be beneficial.

The Opportunity
