We are working with an award winning and independent environmental consultancy that is looking to appoint a Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant / Senior Consultant to join their growing Water Team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across sectors including property, renewable energy and aviation, supporting developments from early strategy through to planning approval.

In this role, you will prepare Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Drainage Strategies for development projects across the UK. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will identify flood risk and drainage constraints and opportunities at development sites, design Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), and integrate drainage strategies within site masterplans. You will also support projects through feasibility, outline design, planning submission and the discharge of planning conditions, while producing clear and concise technical reports and liaising with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders.

Candidates should have at least two years' experience preparing FRAs and drainage strategies, along with experience using InfoDrainage or similar modelling software. A working knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS, as well as an understanding of the UK planning system and relevant flood policy guidance, is expected. Strong communication and report writing skills are essential. Experience with TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, FEH or river restoration would be beneficial but is not essential.
