A leading groundwork and civil engineering contractor in Bedfordshire is seeking a Freelance Estimator. The company specialises in large commercial and residential projects, supported by a modern plant fleet and experienced in-house teams. Requirements:
- 7+ years' experience as an estimator
- Bedfordshire based
- Must have own Ltd Company set up in the UK with insurances
- Background in Groundworks/Infrastructure/Civil Engineering
- Working towards Chartered status or other recognised bodies
Duties:
- Review tender documentation and quantify scope of works for accurate costing
- Prepare competitive cost estimates, including preliminaries and bills of quantities
- Identify and manage commercial and technical risks, proposing best-value solutions
- Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing
- Present tender submissions and lead commercial handover to the delivery team
This role is a freelance position; however, it will be open to extension at the end of the contract for the right person.
