We are working with an award winning and independent environmental consultancy that is looking to appoint a Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant / Senior Consultant to join their growing Water Team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across sectors including property, renewable energy and aviation, supporting developments from early strategy through to planning approval.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Drainage Strategies for development projects across the UK.
- Work as part of a collaborative team to identify flood risk and drainage constraints and opportunities at development sites.
- Design Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and integrate drainage strategies within site masterplans.
- Support projects through feasibility, outline design, planning submission and the discharge of planning conditions.
- Produce clear and concise technical reports and liaise with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Candidates should have at least two years' experience preparing FRAs and drainage strategies.
- Experience using InfoDrainage or similar modelling software.
- A working knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS, and an understanding of the UK planning system and relevant flood policy guidance.
- Strong communication and report writing skills are essential.
- Experience with TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, FEH or river restoration would be beneficial but is not essential.
