A leading built environment consultancy is seeking a talented Senior Urban Designer to join its team. The consultancy is dedicated to sustainable development and reducing environmental impact while enhancing societal contributions.
Based in the London office, the successful candidate will play an instrumental role in the preparation and design of a variety of masterplanning projects, including urban extensions, new neighbourhoods, and garden communities across the UK. With a passion for team collaboration and creating sustainable, high-quality places, the candidate will have experience working on similar projects, supported by a portfolio demonstrating various stages of design, including vision-led site promotion, concept masterplanning, and the preparation of Design and Access Statements, Design Codes, and Illustrative Masterplans to support outline planning applications.
The ideal candidate will be a creative and confident team player, capable of taking a proactive approach to project work, with a proven record of delivering projects on time and within budget. The role requires strong time management skills and the ability to support junior team members.
The candidate must possess excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills and be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), SketchUp Pro, and AutoCAD. Experience with MicroStation, VectorWorks, and hand-drawing skills will be advantageous.
A postgraduate qualification in urban design is required, with an undergraduate degree in planning, architecture, or landscape architecture considered advantageous.
