A fantastic opportunity to break into the Ecology sector has just become available with this new Assistant Ecology Consultant vacancy! Our client is a long standing, internationally recognised multidisciplinary firm working across a huge variety of sectors, making them able to offer you a variety of engaging projects that will keep the job constantly fresh. You'll be learning from experienced, likeminded consultants, assisting them with field work and contributing to the wider development of the business. This role would be ideal for any graduate ecologists with some experience carrying out day-to-day ecological responsibilities who is looking to take on more responsibility.

Responsibility:

  • Baseline ecological surveys for protected and notable species and their habitats
  • Analysing and interpreting ecological data gathered from fieldwork
  • Using QGIS to map data effectively
  • Production of clear and concise technical reports

Requirements:

  • Hold a minimum of a relevant BSc (MSc is desirable) in a relevant degree (Ecology, Biology, Zoology, Environmental Sciences, Geography)
  • Have at least a year of experience as an Assistant/Graduate Ecologist in a consulting environment
  • Experience with basic ecological survey techniques for both protected and notable species
  • Experience producing technical reports for surveys and assessments
  • Experience using GIS software - QGIS is preferable
  • A full UK drivers license
  • Working towards full CIEEM membership
