As a Manufacturing apprentice in Melting, you’ll contribute to JM’s mission as a world leader in sustainable technology, transforming energy and reducing carbon emissions for a cleaner, brighter future.
The role:
- Support metal melting and casting processes, including preparing materials
- Operate equipment under supervision while following work instructions, schedules, and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, safe workspace and carry out basic quality checks and production record-keeping
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures, while completing a National Vocational qualification and supporting additional tasks as required
The role is based at our Royston site, with a requirement to attend college at least one day per week.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
- Minimum age of 16 with at least 4 GCSEs (Grade A*–C / 9–4), including English, Maths, and Science, or a relevant Level 2 apprenticeship
- No prior experience required, but a clear interest in manufacturing or engineering
- Strong commitment to high health and safety standards
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop within a manufacturing environment
- Able to build and maintain positive working relationships
