At Johnson Matthey, your work will matter. As an Electrical Apprentice, you’ll join a world leader in platinum group metals with over 200 years of history. Using advanced metals chemistry, you’ll help tackle the world’s biggest challenges - cutting emissions, powering modern life and supporting life‐saving technologies - by applying, refining and recycling metals that matter for a healthier, more sustainable, circular future.

The role:

  • Supporting the electrical maintenance team with planned and reactive maintenance activities
  • Assisting with fault finding on electrical systems, motors, control panels and plant equipment
  • Following safe systems of work, including electrical isolation and permit procedures
  • Developing skills in electrical testing, inspection and control systems through supervised practice
  • Completing apprenticeship coursework and maintaining an up-to-date development portfolio

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

  • A minimum of four GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A*–C, including Maths, English and Science
  • A genuine interest in electrical or practical engineering subjects
  • Strong safety awareness and a responsible approach to working in an industrial environment
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
