  • Ensuring compliance with COMAH regulations, local process safety legislation and Johnson Matthey process safety policies and standards.
  • Leading and supporting process safety risk assessments, including HAZOP, bowtie development, LOPA and management of change activities.
  • Investigating process safety incidents and near misses, providing clear analysis and practical recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Verifying that risk reduction and mitigation actions are effectively implemented through audits and assurance activities.
  • Providing process safety expertise, guidance and training to employees and contractors to strengthen site-wide PSM capability.

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

  • A relevant engineering degree (such as chemical, mechanical or EC&I) with experience in a process or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of process safety management systems and regulatory frameworks, ideally within a COMAH site.
  • Experience leading or facilitating process safety risk assessments and management of change processes.
  • The ability to analyse complex technical issues and present clear, practical recommendations to a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging at all levels of the organisation.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach with high attention to detail and a strong commitment to safe operations.

Even if you only match some of the skills, we’d love to hear from you to discuss further!
