As Senior Site Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for the safety and operational integrity of site electrical equipment and systems, covering both HV (11kV) and LV at our London based refinery Brimsdown site. The role acts as the site Duty Holder and Responsible Electrical Person (REP) and will lead the electrical function, covering maintenance, operation, statutory compliance, and upgrades where necessary. The role is also responsible for ensuring suitable asset integrity practices are in place and that all training and competency requirements within the electrical team are met.
The Senior Site Electrical Engineer will lead a team of electrical technicians working on 12/7 and 24/7 shift patterns and will be a technical specialist providing support to the site and projects teams for design, construction, assessing risk and improvement opportunities as well as assisting with trouble shooting and incident response.
Your responsibilities:
- Responsible for the electrical safety, the safety of the personnel working on electrical installations (including contractors) and all work on the electrical equipment and systems at site.
- Proactively promote a positive Health & Safety culture and ensure adherence to JM policies (including HR/EHS/Security).
- Management of operational, maintenance, and compliance requirements of site electrical systems.
- Approval of electrical safety documentation, and ensure that electrical safety guidance is followed.
- Ensure that electrical compliance is achieved through adherence with all legislative requirements surrounding statutory inspections, maintenance and close out of remedial actions.
- Responsible for compiling and performing HV switching schedules and putting in place adequate protection settings.
Requirements for the role:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience, ideally having achieved Chartered/Incorporated status. Essential
- You must have industrial electrical experience including HV. Essential
- Experience holding Sr Authorized Electrical Person (SAEP) status for HV network. Essential
- Understanding of DSEAR / ATEX regulations, CompEx 14 qualified desirable. Essential
- Experience of HSE frameworks to at least IOSH level. Desirable
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities. Essential
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member to accomplish objectives. Essential
